Me: I'm the mom of these four girls and a grandma to the baby boys. My name is Mary and I may be 40ish or so, that part doesn't matter so much. I graduated from Cal State in 2009 with a BA in Literature and Writing. My hobbies include sewing and reading. I love living in Southern California! For fun, I really enjoy driving 80 mph, going to the beach, eating authentic Mexican food, seeing the hundreds of different kinds of flowers everywhere, looking at the palm trees, milling around shopping malls, stepping on snails in my bare feet (ok, I don't really like that but it happens once in a while), etc. I still have a long list of things I still want to do. It takes years to be a tourist here! Living here is like being on an extended vacation.
Daddy: Keith is a middle school teacher by day and a university professor by night. On Saturdays, he works as a detention monitor. He brews his own beer, watches too much football, writes and records music, and goes hunting every fall. He has a "man-room" where he escapes from the sea of estrogen that is our home.
Katie: Our oldest daughter is 23 now. She is married to Andrew and they have a baby boy, Henry, who was a year old in May! They are expecting #2 in March 2013. Yay! Katie is our musician. If you ever get a chance to go see her perform, I highly recommend it!
Lexie: I always call Lexie my younger daughter; I used to call her my youngest. She is 21 years old, a single mom and lives at home with us. Lexie is the photographer in our family. She has a natural talent for it.
Charlie: Charlie is Lexie's baby boy. My first grandbaby! He is 2 years old and cute, cute, cute! He's 100% boy too. Climbing, curious, exploring, daring, dirty, and sweet.
Gracie: Our 6 yr old whirlwind of fun. She is a tomboy princess and is happiest when she's busy. Gracie loves to be on the go; most of our adventures are for Gracie to have a good time. She is in first grade in a hybrid homeschool/Montessori program. She's not one bit shy, nor is she one bit quiet.
Libby: The baby. She is almost 4 yrs old now. Libby has the vocabulary of a teenager and she teaches her big sis a thing or two every day. She knows the alphabet, can read small words, can count to 23 and would love to go to preschool if it didn't involve letting mommy go.
Sandy: Our golden retriever is 11.5 yrs old now. She's a great dog and the kids love her!
